The project has two aims:
1) To encourage singing among young people through giving them exciting classical music challenges, and
2) To raise money for children's charities.
Money will be held by a charity, the Romany Wood Charitable Trust (Registered Charity No 1115147).
The organisers want to make participation in the project as easy and cheap as possible. This will ensure the maximum profit for your concert. Among the many materials that will be made available free for your use are:
- Full Orchestral score
- Piano/vocal score
- Rehearsal tracks (version 1 with singers and narrator/ version 2 piano only)
- Orchestral backing tracks (recorded by the Orchestra of Trinity College of Music).
- Orchestral parts
- Word sheets
You have to commit to giving half of the profits of the event to the Romany Wood Charitable Trust. Your concert will be listed on the site in a calendar of events. It will also be listed by county area.
You will also be entitled to purchase CDs of Romany Wood at discounted prices for sale at your event and through your organisation.
Examples of posters, tickets and fliers will be posted on the site before September. You can customise these for use in your concert
Please Check you have the following information before joining the project
1) a date for your concert
2) an available venue
3) an idea of the ticket prices - these can be amended later.
4) an estimate of the size of the audience
The project begins in September 2006 and will run as long as there is interest in mounting performances. Performances between October 2006 and December 2008 will qualify their organisations to be invited to the proposed Royal Charity Gala concert in 2009. Details will be posted on the site in due course |
